Every year thousands of dogs find their way into shelters, find themselves on the streets, or find themselves in need of more suitable living accommodations. This is where rescue groups like ourselves step in and bring deserving animals into foster homes for a chance to start fresh, where they can decompress and let their true personalities shine through. This time lets them learn to trust again, build on their fundamentals, and begin their journey to a happy dog life. Our goal is to show people that “rescue” doesn’t mean broken or damaged. Instead, it means that somewhere along their path they have found themselves in need of a change, a chance at a new beginning. Some dogs have been let down by humans. However, some have had nothing but the best humans they could ask for and still find themselves in need of a fresh start due to no fault of their own. If you take a chance on rescue dogs, you will quickly realize that they will give you much joy, unconditional love, and an appreciation unlike no other.
We are a foster-based organization that saves abandoned, homeless, overlooked, and abused dogs. Our agency helps all dogs regardless of their age, breed, size, medical needs, level of training, or temperament. Though we primarily work with dogs, we aid all pets in need. Animals come into our rescue from a range of places including kill pounds, owner surrenders, and shelters in Ontario, Georgia, and Texas. 4 Lucky Paws rescue is driven by volunteers. We rely on the support of fosters, local vets, and trainers. As such, funding comes predominantly from donations, fundraising, and adoption fees. These funds are spent on medical care, food, supplies, and training. Dogs entering into our organization are cared for in foster homes. Here they receive the love, support, and medical attention they deserve until their forever home is found. During this stage, they are fully vaccinated and spayed or neutered. |
